Theatergroep Bonheur: Serendipity 9.

Tien voorstellingen waar verschillende disciplines bij elkaar gevoegd werden.

Ten performances in which different art disciplines were combined. My contribution was based on interviews with Rotterdam citizens about the huge changes of the city from World War II onwards.


1999

Gongan, voor gongs en kempuls.

Gending: tournee Indonesië.

Concerten in Yogyakarta, Surakarta (Solo), Jakarta.

Gongan is a piece only for the gongs and kempuls.

Following the tour I took classes Javanese gendèr in Solo (Java) en gendèr wayang in Sukawai (Bali).

1998

Multifoon: Mel Benniget.

Multifoon is de enige chromatische Javaanse gamelan ter wereld (dus Westerse stemming): een initiatief van Sinta Wullur.

Multifoon is the only chromatic gamelan in the world and has been initiated by SInta Wullur.

Mel Benniget refers to prehistoric objects that were found by Celtic farmers in the soil of Brittany. They were said to have magical power, protected against lightning and were used in case of euthanasia. The piece has 9 episodes in which slowly agitation is build up by using a higher pivot note in each episode. In the final one there is peace. It is a concert for cello and chromatic gamelan and written for soloist John Addison.

VPRO's Nieuwe Maandag: Evropi - Singvogel - Heksenbrand.

In opdracht van de VPRO schreef ik dit radiophonische werk dat in verschillende landen is uitgezonden.

1994 – 1997

Vanaf 1993 woon ik in Amsterdam. Van 1993 tot 1997 werkte ik als muzikaal begeleider (piano) aan de Theaterschool in Amsterdam zoals ik dit werk voor 1989 aan de Arnhemse dansacademie begon. Vanaf 1997 tot heden werk ik als zodanig aan de Rotterdamse Dansacademie (Codarts). Ik begeleidde tevens trainingen bij Dansgroep Krisztina de Châtel, Dansers Studio en Dansgroep Amsterdam en de zomercursus in Livorno (Italië).

In 1996 deed Ensemble Gending haar eerste tournee door Java. Ik speelde in dit ensemble van 1993 tot 2010. Na de tournee nam ik op Bali (Sukawati) lessen gendèr wayang (Balinese poppenspel) en suling (bamboefluit).

From 1993 until 2010 I was member of the gamelan Ensemble Gending. In 1996 we did our first tour through Java. Following the tour I took classes gendèr wayang (accompaniment of Balinese shadowplay) en suling (bambouflute) in Sukawati from I Budi Kadek Setiawan en I Made Subandhi.


From 1993 on I live in Amsterdam. From 1993 untill 1997 I was musical accompanist (piano) at the Theatreschool in Amsterdam. I continued the work I started at the Arnhem Dance Academy before 1989. From 1997 until now I am musical accompanist at the Rotterdam Dance Academy (Codarts).


From 1994 to 1997 I wrote the following pieces:

Suite, viola da gamba.
a libretto based on the works of the Breton writer Anatole le Braz especially his famous ‘La Légende de la Mort’.
